Diagnostic Imaging: Oncology -- Cancer Metastases Reference

Diagnostic Imaging: Oncology
On my current radiology rotation I'm realizing the importance of looking for patterns. In particular, when looking at imaging of cancer patients, it is helpful to know where particular types of cancers tend to metastasize.

I've been referring a lot to Diagnostic Imaging: Oncology by Shaaban and Blodgett, which is a wonderful radiographic atlas. It also has the best diagrams I've seen depicting patterns of metastatic spread -- with corresponding frequencies (which I find so helpful; none of my other books have the percentages). On this page I've consolidated the metastatic spread diagrams from this book for easy reference. Please note that all images on this page were taken from Diagnostic Imaging: Oncology by Shaaban and Blodgett; I do not own any of them.

Of course, not all cancers follow the typical patterns of spread, but getting familiar with these these is a good place to start.
